About Us
Nestled within the historic Ingestre Estate in Staffordshire, The Orangery stands as a testament to timeless elegance and community resilience.

Lost To Time
Constructed in the 1840s, this Grade II listed building originally served as a conservatory for cultivating exotic fruits and plants, reflecting the grandeur of its era.
Over the decades, The Orangery and its grounds gradually succumbed to the encroaching forces of nature.
Recognising the cultural and architectural significance of this historic gem, a group of local residents formed our charity, "Friends of Ingestre Orangery," in 2012. Our mission, clear: to restore and preserve The Orangery for future generations.
The Story
Dating back to 1840s the Orangery was originally used for growing exotic fruit and plants by the Chetwynd-Talbot family and subsequently the Earls of Shrewsbury.
A recent restoration has brought this exclusive and intimate location back into use with the addition of contemporary functional spaces. The Orangery is a charity first and foremost. Income is invested into the maintenance and continued development of the building and gardens. producing events at the Orangery and hiring the venue enables this historic grade II listed site to be used and loved by many different groups of people, for many years to come.
It is a place to make memories and share special occasions. A place that we hope you will return to time and time again.

The restoration of the Orangery has only been made possible with help from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to re-imagine the Orangery and make it available for the community for many different things and we take this opportunity to thank you!
